By spraying a knockdown texture you can give the room a more rustic, antique feel, as well as helping the walls to absorb more sound. To achieve this effect is simple, but you need a gun first. The hopper comes with a lot of kit that gives it a lot more variation than rival models. For a start it comes with two spray nozzles in the kit. The larger nozzle is great for when you want to give a wall an interesting pattern, and the small nozzle is designed to coat the wall a lot more evenly. Of course, both the pattern and the evenness of the spray job can be further varied by either adjusting the spray pressure from the compressor or turning the wheel face at the front. The nozzles are nice to have and it gives a greater range to this kit.

Another nice touch is that the pistol trigger has a lock on it so that once you work out the correct pressure for the wall that you are working on, you can “lock” the trigger so that you cannot apply too much pressure when spraying. You won’t always have to use this feature, but for ceilings and situations where you can be in awkward positions it is very useful to have.

The hopper itself is made of reinforced plastic, so you won’t have to worry about it breaking easily. The kit also includes an elbow attachment which allows you to spray on ceilings without spilling the Stucco mix over your head (bad news for anyone!). Using the device is very simple – just make sure that you remember to refill the hopper when it is runs down to about a quarter full, otherwise you may end up with air getting into the compressor.

This is a quality hopper that comes with a lot of attachments that make using it easy. The best thing about it is probably the price – its great value considering what you get with the whole package. The face dial and the two nozzles give you a lot of variety to get the desired texture, and the machine is very well made.
